   (Note: a friend posted a link to this on her Facebook page, otherwise, as a guy, I probably wouldn’t be commenting on this particular item)
   While it’s rather cool as an objet d’art, I have to object to the use of the term “steampunk”, as it’s completely lacking the required technological aspect.

      True dat. It has become kind of shorthand at my house for “make it match my steampunk themed bathroom”. The bathroom itself is actually a combination of junkpunk and straight victorian retro with just a little creepy factor… the fixtures and fittings (as we can afford or scrounge them) will add the techno spin. Hopefully. It’s kinda like going to the renfaire — we’re not hardcore, we’re in this for the hell of it. We chose it as a look with some appeal to my teenagers, but we’re not likely to win a ribbon for authenticity… stay tuned for the updated pix of the bathroom!
